For this year’s edition, 17 horses will stride it off for a big chunk of the $1,010,000 prize pool.
The Sandown Classic promises to be a bright attraction of the Melbourne Spring Racing Carnival. Over 2400 metres, ten horses will duke it out for a big chunk of the $350,000 prize purse.Headlining the pack of horses that compete in the Classic is 2007 BMW Caulfield Cup winner Master O’ Reilly. With a win/place open betting odd of 5.00, it proves to be the favourite coming into the said race.
The best three-year-old horses under Set Weight conditions will once again rule the Sandown racecourse for the Sandown Guineas. Each horse and jockey will try their best to outlast their rivals in a 1600m course to win a big part of the $350,000 prize pool and bragging rights for furlong supremacy.
