Perth Races in Western Australia are run at Ascot Racecourse and Belmont Park with Western Australia Turf Club headquarters located at Ascot Racecourse.

Perth Racing Summer Carnival
The Perth Racing Summer Carnival is the showcase for WA racing with eastern state trainers sending their horses west in late December in an attempt to claim some of the rich prizemoney on offer during the carnival. This is easier said than done with many horses failing to cope with the gruelling 300m uphill straight.
The Perth Racing Summer Carnival runs over a three week period and while it officially ends the carnival continues until after the running of the Perth Cup on New Year’s Day.

Summer Racing Sprint Challenge Series
In conjunction with the Victorian Racing Club, the WATC have formed a partnership to host the Summer Racing Sprint Challenge Series. The series is run over three legs with the first race the Group 1 Age Classic at Flemington over 1200m.
The remaining two legs of the challenge are run in Perth, the Colonel Reeves Stakes and the Winterbottom Stakes.
Any horse that can win two of the three races will receive a $100,000 bonus while the
winner of the series receives an invitation from the Singapore Turf Club to run in the S$1 million Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer Sprint at Kranji Racecourse.
Crown Australian Mile Triple Challenge
Another initiative by Australian racing authorities is the Crown Australian Mile Triple Challenge that is a three-legged series offering $1million bonus to any horse that can win all three races.
The three races are held at Ascot Racecourse, Caulfield Racecourse and Flemington Racecourse. There is a $250,000 consolation prize for any horse that can be placed in all three events.
Carbine Club Challenge
Perth racing certainly has some creative minds in their marketing department with the Carbine Club Challenge aimed at getting a few more Eastern State visitors to Perth for the Summer Carnival.
The Carbine Club Challenge offers a $250,000 bonus to any horse that can win the following three races.

- CB Cox Stakes (2100m)
- BMW Perth Cup (2400m)

Belmont Park Racecourse is host to Perth racings Autumn Carnival. The carnival kicks off in late March with the three-year-old classic races and the Karrakatta Plate the undoubted highlights.
