Melbourne Cup Horses
In 2009, 230 race horses were nominated for the Melbourne Cup with 39 of them coming from other countries. For the 2011 Melbourne Cup, it is expected that more thoroughbreds will be nominated. For the 2011 edition of this race, Melbourne Cup horses must be nominated by the 2nd of August and an entry fee of $600 per horse must be paid.
Late nominees are accepted a week after but the price to pay for nomination will be a whopping $3,300. After the late nominations on August 9, 2011, no other nominees will be accepted. During the Saturday before the staging of the 2011 Melbourne Cup, there will be four times wherein payment must be made to let the horse stay for the 2011 Melbourne Cup Horses field.
The costs to let Melbourne Cup horses stay in the competition is $48,805 and this includes all nomination fees and race fees. However, this is a small amount compared to the $6,175,000 million prize pool that the Melbourne Cup has. The 2011 Melbourne Cup will happen on the 1st of November at the Flemington Racecourse and it will be the seventh race on schedule. More updates about the 2011 Melbourne Cup will be revealed soon.
