Randwick Races
Black Caviar The Toast of Australian Racing

The thunderous roar we all heard when Black Cavier let go in the straight on her way to a comprehensive victory in the T.J Smith Stakes at Royal Randwick on Saturday almost brought a tear to the eye as this champion racehorse notched win number 12 from as many starts.
Her fifth Group 1 victory looked, for a fleeting moment, as though it wouldn’t come when the John McNair trained Hay List turned for home with a handy break on his main rival.
Luke Nolan pulled the 4YO champ to the centre of the track and she took a few strides to win up before quickly putting the issue beyond doubt, sprinting past Hay List as though he was nailed to the rail to record an effortless 2.8 length win.
The Brisbane Winter Carnival beckons now for the daughter of Bel Espirit who will next line up in the Group 1 BTC Cup over 1200 metres.
I’m looking forward to the day when they actually have to pull the stick. I shudder to think what sort of sectional she would run.
