Before the race day itself, Rosehill Gardens and Canterbury Park do not allow pre-selling of entry tickets. You should purchase them during the race day itself. However, you can place reservations at the restaurants in these race courses in advance. Also, you must dress to impress when you attend the race meets but your attire must not be offensive or obscene.

If you are the owner of a race horse that will compete during race day, you will be given four complimentary entry tickets and two of which allows you to enter the enclosure area. Additional Members’ Reserve tickets may also be purchased. However, large groups who would like to conduct parties at Rosehill or Canterbury Park are not allowed.

You can make your way to the Rosehill Gardens and Canterbury Park race tracks by train. Rosehill has a train station next to it while Canterbury is about 15 minutes away from Canterbury Station. You can also travel to these racecourses by bus. If you will travel by car, both Rosehill and Canterbury have free public parking spaces at their infield car parks and a separate exclusive parking for the disabled.

During the race day itself, the start of the race day may vary depending on the schedule of activities and Daylight Savings Time. However, Canterbury Park usually starts their seven-race night programs at 7 pm. Entry fees during regular meetings from weekdays to Saturday is $12 for adults and $4 for concessions while children below 18 gain free entry. However, these rates increase during special racing events.

Concessions are available for pension holders while widows of war veterans, disabled war veterans and returning soldiers from active duty gain free entrance as long as they provide sufficient identification about their status such as a pension card or any valid identification. Senior Card holders are not eligible for the entry fee of concessions.

Children under 18 years of age and are accompanied by a parent will get free entrance to the racecourse. If someone aged 16-18 wants to enter the racecourse on his own, he must pay the entire entrance fee charged. Rosehill Gardens also has a Parent’s Room, high chairs and baby change tables within the complex.

There are also designated smoking areas in Rosehill and Canterbury but it is strictly prohibited in enclosed areas. You can smoke at Rosehill behind the public stand, on the front lawn and in the betting ring. At Canterbury, you can have a smoke you can smoke at the front lawn or behind the main grandstand.

Racebooks can be purchased at the entry gates or with the roaming staff during special race days. If you lost something, check if it is at the Guest Relations Office first. If not, it might be at the Lost Property Office at the Canterbury Racecourse. Cloakrooms are also available at Rosehill if you need to have you clothes washed due to the rain and they close 30 minutes after the last race. If you forgot to claim your clothes, they will be transferred to the Lost Property Office.

Rosehill and Canterbury do not allow its patrons to bring perishable foods for group consumption such as meats, salads, seafoods, dairy products and food platters. Foods can be purchased at the snack areas within the racing complex. Foods for personal consumption are allowed in the public grandstand while foods are not allowed to be brought in at reserved dining areas. Birthday cakes are also allowed.

Folding chairs and beach umbrellas are not allowed inside for there are umbrella areas and grandstands already. Also, visitors can bring small digital cameras to capture the action but professional photography gadgets are not allowed.
