Second Nominations for the 2011 Golden Slipper Stakes
The second nominations for the 2011 Golden Slipper Stakes have been conducted and about 200 thoroughbreds have been cut from the list. These race horses cannot compete at the $3.5 million Group 1 race anymore. From the 1,238 horses that were nominated during the first acceptance, the list was narrowed down but Patinack Farm still has 35 nominees remaining.

Rosehill Race Track
The most prominent 2011 Golden Slipper Stakes nominees from Patinack Farm are Win For Naara, Pane In The Glass and Boys On Tour. Pane In the Glass is unbeaten in three career starts including the Inglis Nursery and the Inglis Classic. These three horses are all trained by John P. Thompson.
Another successful stable is the Darley Australia Racing Syndicate which still has 29 nominees as of the moment. Headlining their roster is the Peter Snowden-trained Sepoy which is also undefeated. Sepoy is the colt of Elusive Quality and he has already won the 1000-metre Listed Maribymong Trial Stakes and the 1000-metre Listed Blue Diamond Preview in convincing fashion.
Due to his dominating performance, Sepoy is the top favourite to win the 2011 Blue Diamond Stakes on the 26th of February at Caulfield. If he wins the Blue Diamond, there is no doubt that he will be placed on top of the 2011 Golden Slipper Stakes betting odds list. Meanwhile, Blue Diamond Fillies Preview winner and runner-up One Last Dance and Anevay are still in contention for spots in the Golden Slipper.
In a thrilling race, the Peter Moody-trained One Last Dance won by a slim margin over the Tim Martin-trained Anevay. Aside from Sepoy, Karuta Queen is also a top favourite at the 2011 Golden Slipper Stakes betting odds list. The Neville Layt-trained Karuta Queen is also undefeated in four career starts and her last victory came as a three-length victory at the Magic Millions 2YO Classic.
Also, the Victory Lodge stable has 17 nominees left for the 2011 Golden Slipper Stakes and their strongest race horse is Satin Shoes. Meanwhile, Chris Waller still has 11 aspirants left including Fast and Sexy and Gerald Ryan has online six competitors left and his strongest on the group are Hollyweird and Godspeed. The final field of the 2011 Golden Slipper Stakes will be unveiled on the 29th of March.
