Railway Stakes Betting Odds & Results (Saturday, 21st of November)
Put your horse betting ways on track once again for the 2009 Railway Stakes. Often regarded as the best race in Western Australia, this 1600-metre race is one of the most thrilling horse racing events of the year. For this year’s edition, 17 horses will stride it off for a big chunk of the $1,010,000 prize pool.
One of the bigger stories for this year’s race is the return of champion jockey Damien Oliver. Having not won the Railway since 1994, Oliver hopes to break the drought by riding on the early favourite Gold Salute. Finishing in a disappointing third place, Gold Salute has an early market betting odd of 3.20.
Gold Salute’s fiercest competitor on the Ascot track might be All American. Finishing a place better than Gold Salute in the Emirates, All American is pegged to be the horse that will give Gold Salute a run for its money. All American’s early market odd is at 6.50.

Not to be left behind is Ortensia. Reliable jockey Craig Williams will hold the reins for this horse and he will definitely give his all. Ortensia’s win/place early market betting odd is at 7.50
Meanwhile, Grand Nirvana might be the black horse of this year’s Railway. Not to be disregarded, this 52-kilogram has a win/place early market betting odd of 9.00. Next to it in the list is Snipers Bullet who has the potential to snipe away the $622,500 top prize. Snipers Bullet’s win/place betting odd is pegged at 14.00.
Rounding up the top ten list are: Tarzi (win/place early market odd – 14.00), Spirited One (win/place early market odd – 16.00), Largo Lad (win/place early market odd – 18.00), Megatic (win/place early market odd – 18.00) and Elliotto (win/place early market odd – 21.00).
Completing the list of competitors for the 2009 Railway Stakes are: Keytomoney (win/place early market odd – 26.00), Colour Correct, Famous Roman and Lords Ransom (all with win/place early market odd of 31.00), Lambton Castle (win/place early market odd – 51.00), Oroya Gold (win/place early market betting odd – 61.00) and Coconut Grove (win/place early market betting odd – 151.00).
Just like in past years, this year’s edition of the Railway Stakes promises to be a memorable and heart-stopping one. And with these horses are ready to go neck to neck, you should be ready to go neck and neck with other horse racing bettors. Ride the Railway Stakes locomotive now and start betting on your favorite thoroughbreds.
