Melbourne Cup jockey news sees Godolphin flying in Frankie Dettori for next Tuesday’s Melbourne Cup. Dettori will ride the Godolphin trained Kirklees who flopped badly in the Caulfield Cup while Kerrin McEvoy has been booked to ride the stablemate Crime Scene.

It didn’t take long for Damien Oliver to jump off the Luca Cumani trained Basaltico after his flop in the Geelong Cup last week.

Oliver has secured the ride on the Chris Waller trained import Warringah at 0.5kg above the 52.5kg allocated by the handicapper.

Danny Nikolic has been booked to ride Basaltico in the Melbourne Cup.
