Predatory Pricer Wins Liston

Written By admin On Saturday, August 15th, 2009

The Paul Murray trained Predatory Pricer a half-brother to the recently retired superstar sprinter Takeover Target took out yesterday’s JJ Liston Stakes at Caufield after holding off the fast finishing Whobegotyou.

The Sydney four-year-old settled in the second half of the field with Darren Gauci setting a suicidal speed to find the front on the outclassed Jungle Ruler. He must have been doing some unbelievable trackwork for Gauci to set him the task that he did.

Unfortunately for those who backed the mare Typhoon Tracy, we all did our money cold with the blistering early sectionals leaving her a sitting shot for anything with ability storming home.

Typhoon Tracy was without doubt, the best of good things beaten and I’m sure those who backed her yesterday will double up next time she steps out.

All three placegetters from the Liston should line up in the Makybe Diva to be run over a mile at Flemington early next month. Lets hope there is no pacemaker in the race.

Predatory Pricer is obviously going to be aimed at the WS Cox Plate but he may find himself lining up in the Caulfield Cup depending on how his campaign unfolds. Unlike his fleetfooted brother, this bloke is a stayer.
