The $2.2 million colt Metallurgical is set to make his long awaited debut for trainer Jason Coyle at Sydney races on Saturday.

The son of Redoute’s Choice is half brother to Group 1 winner Casino Prince who started the Favourite in the 2006 Golden Slipper that was won in emphatic fashion by Miss Finland.

Casino Prince won three of his first four starts and the Warwick Farm trainer is hoping Metallurgical can kick off his racing career at Rosehill in a similar vein after two recent trials.

Metallurgical is being aimed at the $1 million Golden Rose along with stablemate Onemorenomore who took out the final leg of Sydney’s two-year-old triple crown in winning the Group 1 Champagne Stakes (1600m) at Randwick races in April.
